We can scan your photograph into a digital copy. Please contact us to make arrangements.
You are welcome to provide your own scans. This can speed up the production process and remove the chance of loss or damage in transit. Please provide scans at original size dimensions, at either 300 or 600 dpi, and in .jpg or .tif file formats.
All retouching is done on a digital "copy" of the original photograph. No alterations or retouching will be made to the original print or negative.
Retouching can be as basic as removing spots or stains, to recreating missing detail due to tears or fading. As such the degree of retouching can be small or great and will determine pricing for the project.
Adding color can add vibrancy to an antique photograph. Color can be added for the whole image or just a portion of the image to add interest, for example adding just eye color.
Image manipulation goes beyond the normal restorative process. This could include removal of person or object from the photo, adding objects to the photo, changing the background, and so on. Manipulation can be simple (removing skin blemishes) or complex (removing people).
We can have prints made and delivered to you. Maximum print sizes are determined by the original print size and the digital file size. Prints larger than the original can be expected to degrade in resolution quality.
All final images will be delivered back to you as a digital file. You are welcome to have 3rd party printing services make your prints. Files will be delivered in jpeg format, or in png format where areas of transparency are required. Layered Photoshop (psd) files will not be delivered.
